What we do with your data

This notice covers the Zimba Capital Research website and The Zimba Briefing email. It is short because we collect very little.

Last updated 16 August 2026

In short

If you subscribe, we hold your email address and use it to send you the briefing. We do not sell, rent or share it. You can unsubscribe from any email, and we will delete your address on request.

1. Who we are

Zimba Capital Research is the research and insights division of Zimba Capital, which is the data controller for the purposes of this notice. You can reach us at research@zimbacapital.com.

2. What we collect

  • Your email address, if you subscribe to The Zimba Briefing.
  • Information you choose to send us through the contact form — your name, email address, organisation if you provide it, and the content of your message.
  • Basic technical information generated when any website is visited, such as your approximate location derived from IP address, browser type and the pages you viewed.

We do not ask for, and have no use for, financial information, identity documents or any special category personal data. Please do not send them to us.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To send you the briefing. Lawful basis: your consent, given when you subscribe. You may withdraw it at any time.
  • To answer your message. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
  • To understand how the site is used in aggregate, so we can improve it. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in operating a functioning website.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not pass it to the wider Zimba Capital business for sales or marketing purposes.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use only what is necessary for the site to work, plus privacy-respecting aggregate analytics. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers or third-party marketing pixels. You can block cookies in your browser without losing access to any part of this site.

5. How long we keep it

Subscriber email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and are then removed. Contact form messages are kept for up to twenty-four months so we can maintain continuity of correspondence. Aggregate analytics data is retained in non-identifying form.

6. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the service providers who make the publication work — principally our email delivery provider and our website host. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data with anyone, in any circumstances.

We may disclose data where we are legally required to do so.

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers operate outside the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

8. Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have it provided in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email research@zimbacapital.com — there is no charge and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

9. Changes to this notice

If we change this notice materially, we will say so in the briefing rather than quietly updating the page. The date at the top indicates the current version.
